Our June meetings were usually the Tony Marsh Memorial Weekend but as previously reported, that has been moved to the July meeting.

Online Signing-On invitations will be sent out via email during the next few days. These will be required to be completed by 11th June to enable us to collate and distribute the information to those who need it. We are sorry but we will not be able to have spectators at our June events. Motorsport UK have not lifted their guidance in this respect. Additionally, the weekend falls before the UK Government’s final stage of lockdown. What a Weekend

Simon Purcell, Chairman of BARC SW, and the club’s committee would like to thank everyone involved in a fantastic weekend’s hill climbing.
We would like to thank all the J Hitchings Partnership, marshalls, back off staff, scrutineers, commentary team,, timekeepers, race control, catering, Rich and Eleanor for the amazing live stream, the drivers, and all those people that work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our events happen.
All four of the Top Twelve Run-Offs were spectacular in many ways. But the long-standing hill record dating back to 2014 was beaten by Wallace Menzies, the current British Hill Climb Champion, in his Gould GR59 Cosworth. The record now stands at 25.34s. Congratulations Wallace.
If you would like to see all of the weekend’s streaming video of the timed runs, please following the following link. You will see all the timed runs and the runoffs too.

Thank you to Rich and Eleanor for putting all this together on such very, very short notice.

COMPETITOR INFORMATION – MAY 2021 – REVISED FINAL INSTRUCTIONS

After a great deal of discussion, BARC South West Centre has decided to make an amendment to the Final Instructions issued earlier this week in respect of the two meetings on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th May 2021.

Our intention is to offer two practice runs, followed by Lunch, then the first timed runs, and a Top Twelve Run-Off followed by the second timed runs and the second Top Twelve Run-Off each day.

As some of you may know, we are not permitted to run beyond 18:00 each day. These constraints were imposed on us by Wiltshire County Council following a noise complaint.

Covid-19 protocols may add additional time to running the event. So we will need YOUR help. Every competitor needs to avoid any unnecessary delays. For example, we would ask you to be ready prior to your batch being called.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again at Gurston Down.
